Photos from our latest concert
I brought the camera to our latest concert with the Young Sinatras and just had fun with it. Very few turned out as I wanted them but a couple made it through. Bart Wirtz still would like a couple of photos for his web page, record covers etc. so we tried out some ideas. More photos maybe next time.
New lens today!
So, Martin arrived safely after some 11 days in New York. He visited B&H Photo for me and bought me a new lens for the camera. Very cool. A bit more wide angle than before, and I went for a fixed lens without zoom. The Canon 24mm f2.8
Friendly URLs by accident
I am still working on the speed of the site. It still seems to suffer heavy delays sometimes when loading. Trying to figure out how to get this better I stumbled upon friendly URLs. Before all the addresses to the different places on the site had crazy names, unreadable actually. Well, the new Gallery and WordPress I installed seems to have better support for this, and I got that to work immedeately. So, now enjoy some easier addresses in the address field.
Upgraded the entire site
Just trying out how it all works. In an attempt to make the site a bit faster I today upgraded the web applications of this site to newer versions. Though I am still trying to work out a solution with my web host, I hope it will make things a bit snappier. Now I'm running WordPress version 2.0.2 and Gallery 2.1RC1 on this site. I'm still working on the estaestics and having plans on adding a personal page with a bio and picture of myself.
Twilight photo session at Scheveningen
After planning and preparing all our photo gear, me and Frank Kramer woke up extremely early and went to Scheveningen (the dutch beach in den Haag) to catch the twilight. Covered up to the ears in clothing and bogged down with lenses, cameras, tripods and bananas, we headed out on the beach and shot away on all that was nice. We didn’t succeed fully in finding the right spots but managed to make some nice things out of it. And for the rest, just being there that early, experiencing the sunrise and being thankful to life in general was rewarding enough! A tip is to click on the picture ‘tower panoramic’ and then look for the link ‘download picture’ below it. There you have a big version of this shot which will cover your entire screen. It is quite cool this one!
Museum night in Rotterdam
A friend suggested to go out to have a look in the city on the museum night in Rotterdam. Very cosy indeed. All cultural buildings had extended their open times until 02.00 in the night and provided drinks and foods and good times. We saw alot of culture, people and tap dancers (!) and even some exhibitions of photographers. Some very nice things. I brought the camera of course, but had almost no times to actually shoot myself. Well, I provide a couple of pics just for the heck of it!
