Photoshop before/after section added

I thought it could be fun to create a section of Photoshop work for the photo album. I will show images in two states:

  1. BEFORE - the image  either taken straight out of the camera or with some minor changes.
  2. AFTER - The image shown after I made changes to it inside Photoshop.

This might give you an idea of what is actually possible inside the computer. I get a lot of questions concerning this and there is always an ongoing discussion whether it is allowed or not to manipulate and/or alter the editorial contents of an image. I do agree that it is an artform in itself ONLY using your camera and current lighting conditions to create your images - that is the art of photography! What I also beleive is that an image is created for myself and for a viewer. If I can help the viewer experiencing more of an image by improving it in Photoshop, then I have also improved the artistic value of that image. As in the old days when people used the darkroom with all fluids, tools and lights to improve images, I just use Photoshop to serve that same purpose. No matter how I have created an image - with or without the help of a computer - the end result is still what I call my photograph.

Taken from the greek words 'phos' and 'graphis' - photography actually means "drawing with light" !
